The Break-up is a romantic comedy about two people who were happily in a relationship until one of them pushed them to their break up.
The movie kicks off in a baseball match in Chicago where Gary and his friend are sitting in the stands watching the baseball match, at one point Gary was hungry and decided to take six hot-dogs and while the other people was handing the hot-dogs to Gary he locked eyes with Brooke while she was on a date, then Gary decide to give one of the hot-dogs to Brooke.
After the game while Brooke was about to pass near Gary he asked Rachel out on a date but Brooke said no but Gary did not give up until she said yes at which point Brooke accepted to go out with Gary. Then a number of photos appeared after each one showing Rachel and Gary happily with each other while a song was being played with the photos.
The movie starts off with Gary ( the tour guide) on top of the tour bus greeting the customers in a friendly matter which then the tour starts off with Gary showing the customers the most famous and historic buildings around all Chicago.
After the tour then its switches to Brooke in the apartment cooking for their family dinner with Brooke’s mother, father and brother and Gary’s mother and his two brothers
Gary comes home after a long day of work, which then comes in the kitchen where Brooke was cooking dinner takes a beer from the fridge and goes into the living room to relax .
Then Brooke goes into the living room to confront Gary for bringing three lemons instead 0f 12 lemons that Rachel wanted.
While they were talking the door bells and Brooke asks Gary to open the door so Brooke can go back to cooking dinner but then Gary goes to take a shower leaving Brooke to open the door.
After Brooke opens the door, the next scene starts off everyone around the table eating dinner at which point Brooke’s brother starts singing and tries to encourage everyone to participate, everyone participates except Gary because he does not like singing .
Then after dinner everybody leaves and Gary lies on the couch playing video-games and then Brooke asks him to want Gary to help her clean the dishes which then the fight starts because Gary didn’t want to clean the dishes.
After the fight Gary decides to leave the apartment and go to his friend’s bar .Brooke then decides to phone her best friend to let out her feelings.
After last night the fight grew bigger into a series of remedies, war tactics and undermining tricks thus trying to reach their breaking point.
After an occasional game night at Gary and Brooke’s condo the fight took to their friends and family’s limit leaving one of their friends who works in real estate telling them if there is no chance of them reconciling they have no chance to live the together with their apartment’s mortgage because neither can afford the mortgage by themselves which then telling them to sell their condo starting a domestic war so either Gary and Brooke can move out of the condo.
After they decide to sell the condo Brooke got two tickets to a concert and she asked Gary to go with her, Gary said yes but then he didn’t show up leaving Brooke with no chance to reconcile her relationship with Gary.
After her argument with Gary both of them headed their separate ways, Brooke going on her travels around the world and Gary extending his business of tour guiding thus never seeing each other for a while
After a long period of time it was Christmas time, while Brooke was on her way to a meeting she bumps into Gary while he was Christmas shopping and they start talking about what they did in their lives while they were apart from each other.
After their bump the movie ends with Gary and Brooke going their seperate ways with their lives.
In my opinion this a very good movie with plenty of laughs.
